Cifuentes Exit Incoming?
It has been reported by numerous credible sources that the departure of LAFC Midfielder, Jose Cifuentes, is imminent as Scottish premiership giants, Rangers FC, have expressed extreme interest in the Ecuadoran.
According to The Athletic’s, Tom Bogert, the move is considered “likely” but a deal between LAFC and Rangers has not been reached yet. As we reach closer to the opening of the Scottish Transfer Window (July 1), we could be seeing the final days of Jose Cifuentes’ LAFC tenure.

Pancho Ginella injured in Copa Libertadores
Former starter and currently-loaned Midfielder, Francisco Ginella, has suffered an ankle injury in a CONMEBOL Copa Libertadores match against Brazilian-side, internacional.
After being subbed on for Uruguay’s, Club Nacional, Ginella suffered a few blows and played through the apparent injury, and according to the club’s statement, Ginella has suffered a fracture to the inner malleolus of the tibia (inner ankle bone) and will be heading into surgery in the coming days.
An injury like this can leave him sidelined from the pitch for up to six months, putting an end to his season.
With this, LAFC fans should expect the injured Uruguayan to return to Los Angeles as early as the next month, due to the conclusion of his 12-month loan spell. Could we see an epic comeback from Pancho Ginella in an LAFC uniform later this season?
Cherundolo to USMNT Rumors shutdown
As you may be able to tell, LAFC have had their names in the rumor mill these last few weeks, but not just from the players side, but also within the personnel.
Well, it is now safe to say that the “Mayor of Hannover” is here to stay as the rumors about the possibility of LAFC Head Coach, Steve Cherundolo, taking the USMNT managerial vacancy were shut down today by the man himself, after being asked about the rumors in Tuesday’s pre-match presser.
In only his second season as the manager of the Black and Gold, Cherundolo has expressed that the reports are “completely fabricated and false” and that his intentions are to stay with the club “[for] a long time”.
